Marking my Calendar

His death was tragic and the world mourned him. He left a young daughter and a trail of broken hearts, won an Oscar in the wake.

Heath Ledger was talented. I think that much was obvious. It was a shock to all when he passed and he left behind great performances but most of us heard that he died while making a new film- "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus"

After his death Jude Law, Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp stepped in to complete his role. The new trailer has been released and it looks fantastic, in all senses of the word.

This movie will be a box office hit, there is no doubt about that. It seems like a movie not many people will get however. For me on the other hand, it's right up my alley. It's on my list. Is it on yours?

Mad as a Hatter

Johnny Depp joined Tim Burton yesterday at the Comic-Con press conference about Alice in Wonderland surprising screaming girls everywhere. Click here to witness. If I wasn't already excited enough to see this movie, they have released a trailer.

The movie isn't even finished yet and people are so excited about it, they needed a trailer. They needed something.

The trailer, eh, of course I've seen better. But it is worth it for even a glimpse into the brilliance that will be Alice in Wonderland. I've watched it three times already, yearning for more. Johnny Depp looks so sexy, even as the Mad Hatter...only Johnny. 2010 is way too long to wait for this.

The Trifecta

Jamie Campbell Bower is the new ish. He is breaking onto the big screen in a huge way. Jamie is most well know at this point for playing Anthony in Sweeney Todd with Helena Bonham Carter, Johnny Depp, and Alan Rickman.

It was recently announced that Jamie will play the great wizard Gellert Grindelwald in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: parts 1 and 2.

Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman and Jamie Campbell Bower all stared in the Sweeney Todd and will now star in Harry Potter together.

How can I get in on this? Seriously...

Note to self: be European and star in movie with Helena Bonham Carter and Alan Rickman...be set for life

do you snorkel with hotdogs?

Johnny Depp on Letterman last night was completely hilarious. Endearing and wonderful. He had impressive banter with Dave (we're on first name basis obviously). I am not exactly thrilled to see Public Enemies, word is he is fantastic in it and I probably will see it, but it's not my kind of movie.
Anyway, wasn't exactly a fan of the outfit, it was strange and all I could look at was the bandana in his back pocket and of course the hair. The hair is why he is great. It is always greasy and somehow he pulls it off. So unfair, when my hair is greasy it looks awful and I feel gross. How he manages to feel wonderful with that hair is beyond me.
The one thing that I adore about Johnny Depp is how huge he is without flaunting. The outfit even though I kind of despised it looks like he hunted through the thrift store for that. It probably cost thousands but it looks like 20 tops...he's so downtown. Speaking of downtown he left a $4000 tip the other night at a restaurant he has visited previously. Why does that never happen to me? I was pleasantly surprised by the humor. I guess you have to figure to pull off the humor that he manages with most of his parts is god-given but you never know. He adores his children and Dave is good with children. He likes to talk about them. Even though you don't get much from Johnny on a regular basis, with that much time for an interview its golden. He's a charmer and he knows it. Luckily he doesn't shove it at us. I however will not forgive him if he makes another installation of Pirates of the Caribbean. I love him as Captain Jack but 3 is enough, believe me it's enough.
